Shuaida Zhu is a Ph.D. candidate at the Shanghai Research Institute for Intelligent Autonomous Systems, Tongji University, China. His research focuses on intelligent damage identification in tunnel structures, with particular emphasis on acoustic emission technology. During his visiting period, under the co-supervision of Prof. Limongelli, he investigates optimization algorithms for determining the optimal placement of acoustic emission sensors, as well as multi-source data fusion algorithms for assessing the damage severity in tunnel structures. Furthermore, he is also interested in the application of machine learning techniques in structural health monitoring.
