SARIL: Sustainability And Resilience for Infrastructure and Logistics networks

SARIL aims to complement the classic definition of resilience, which focuses on threat prevention, robustness and system recovery, with green aspects. Three scenarios will be modelled (regional, national and international/EU) with varying levels of detail, to achieve a universal understanding of green resilience by using a common framework. Adopting three different scenarios on different geographical scales, models will be developed which can capture the unperturbed system operation as well as the behaviour in case of disruptions. In particular, the SPM3 research group will focus on the development of the regional scenario where the impact of floods in the Mantua area, Italy, and the joint impact of a cyber attack on the monitoring information will be assessed. The results for the three scenarios will be used to assess similarities and differences between the three geographical scales.
