The SPM3 research group is actively engaged in advancing the use of Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) technologies for Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of civil infrastructures. Their work spans from methodological developments—such as the quantification of uncertainty and the propagation of errors in satellite-derived displacement data—to practical applications on bridges and other critical structures, often in combination with on-site sensor networks and GNSS validation. The group has contributed to both regional- and structure-scale monitoring studies, with particular focus on bridges exposed to climate change effects, seismic risk, and long-term deterioration.
