Bryan Castillo Torres is a PhD student in the Department of Architecture, Built Environment, and Construction Engineering (DABC) at Politecnico di Milano, supported by a MSCA fellowship under the BRIDGITISE program. Through the project “CODES – Small data becoming big data” he will explore the development of a comprehensive framework to codify and openly share monitoring data collected from a limited yet diverse pool of bridges. This includes implementing robust online sampling methods from multiple sources to enhance data quality, identifying correlations within the datasets to build a general probabilistic prediction model for bridge behaviour, and updating this model continuously using incoming monitoring data. Ultimately, the project aims to define procedures that allow such models to inform and dynamically update structural design codes through adapted online platforms.
