Fateme Fadaei is a PhD student in the Department of Architecture, Built Environment, and Construction Engineering (DABC) at Politecnico di Milano. She is the recipient of a scholarship for a PhD research within the framework of the SARIL project, funded by the European Union. Fateme completed her Master’s degree in Structural Engineering in 2023 at the University of Birjand, Iran. Her master’s thesis focused on studying the seismic behavior of a unique type of spatial structures called “Double-layer Tensegrity Barrel Vaults”. Her doctoral research at Politecnico di Milano involves developing a reliability-based decision support system for flood events, considering flood-induced scoured bridges crossing the Mincio river in Italy, employing Bayesian Networks.
