HORUS explores a new possibility to conceive structural health monitoring (SHM) of civil structures and lays the basis for a new real-time immersive experience and interaction between resilient structures, sensing systems, and engineers. HORUS will drive the evolution of SHM systems from networks of sensors permanently installed on a few strategic infrastructures to a set of modular sensing devices brought on-demand to targeted structures by swarms of drones. An evolution from fixed traditional monitoring systems, to scalable, adaptable, and connected Holistic On-demand Remote Unmanned Sensing system: HORUS.
