George Karagiannakis is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering (DABC) at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. He received his PhD in seismic risk assessment of structures inside process plants from University of Sannio, Italy. During his PhD studies, he was a Marie Curie Fellow. Also, at the end of his PhD, he awarded a traineeship in European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), Italy. He received his MSc in Seismic Resistant Design of Structures (With Distinction) from University of Patras, Greece, in 2017, and completed a 5-year bachelor in Civil Engineering from the same department. His current research focuses on the resilience modelling and assessment of critical infrastructures against natural hazards accounting for climate change and adaptation strategies.
